Full Pack vs Single Module — Which Hybrid Battery Replacement Do You Need?
When a Toyota hybrid battery gets weak, there are two main ways to fix it: replace only the weak modules, or replace the whole battery pack. Here's how to decide.
What is a single module?
Your hybrid battery pack is made of many 7.2V NiMH modules connected together (for example, 28 in a Prius Gen 3). A single module is one of those units. If a mechanic tests the pack and finds a few weak modules, those can be replaced one by one. Our brand-new 7.2V NiMH module is sold individually. What is a full pack?
A full pack replaces every module at once. You get a complete set of brand-new modules, so there are no old modules left that might fail later. We have full packs for Prius Gen 3 (28 modules), Aqua / Prius C (20 modules) and Camry Hybrid XV40 (34 modules).
When a single module makes sense
- Your mechanic has tested every module and only a few are weak.
- The rest of the pack is still in good condition.
- You want the lower-cost repair for now.
Keep in mind: if the pack is old, the other original modules may also get weak later. A good mechanic will test all modules, not just the failed one.
When a full pack makes sense
- Many modules are weak, or the pack has already been repaired before.
- The battery is old and you want a long-term fix.
- You want every module in the pack to be brand new.

Ingat: kalau pek sudah lama, modul asal yang lain juga mungkin lemah kemudian. Mekanik yang baik akan uji semua modul, bukan hanya yang rosak.
Bila pek penuh sesuai
- Banyak modul lemah, atau pek pernah dibaiki sebelum ini.
- Bateri sudah lama dan anda mahu penyelesaian jangka panjang.
- Anda mahu semua modul dalam pek baharu.
